About Jacinta Le Plastrier

Jacinta Le Plastrier is a Melbourne-based writer, poet, editor and publisher. She is blog editor of ‘Guncotton’ for ‘Cordite Poetry Review’, Publisher at John Leonard Press, and has just completed a Hot Desk Writing Fellowship at The Wheeler Centre. She has written as a mainstream journalist since a young age, as a news journalist, feature writer and contributing editor for ‘The Age’, ‘The Sunday Age’, ‘The Sydney Morning Herald’, ‘Good Weekend’ and other magazines. Her poetry collection, ‘The Book of Skins’, will be published in 2013 (JLP). Alongside being included in anthologies by Oxford University Press, Penguin Books and Pan Picador, she has collaborated with multimedia artists such as Moira Corby and composers Michael Smetanin in ‘Skinless Kiss of Angels’ and Mary Finsterer, ‘Omaggio Alla Pieta’. A 2013 opinion article for ‘The Age’ on the shift in perception around violence against women has been nominated for the 2013 United Nations of Australia Association journalism awards.
